Can you explain your role and the types of projects you are working on for Parsons?

I have been an Associate Bridge Engineer at Parsons for a little over 2 years. Over the span of my time I have been involved in a variety of projects. I mainly do design work on bridges, including superstructure replacements, bridge deck overlays, design builds, structure size and type reports, and inspections. I have also had the opportunity to perform hydraulic modeling, attend deck pours, beam settings, visiting a steel beam fabricator, and going out in the field to assist with retrieving data via drone.

Why did you join ASHE?

I was introduced to ASHE by Alan Mize (who was working on getting the Circle City Chapter started), and Brad Kahn (who had been a member when he lived in Toledo Ohio). It has given me the opportunity to meet and connect with others in the transportation industry. It is more geared towards people and topics in our field than other professional organization

What do you love about attending ASHE events?

I enjoy coming to ASHE events to network with other individuals in the industry. It is a great way to meet and interact with people from different companies. The events are always fun and have a diverse group of members to interact with.

What are a few things you do as hobbies/outside of work for fun?

I enjoy going to concerts, I have seen 62 bands so far this year with more to come. I also like spending time with my two Australian Cattle Dogs, Buddy and Angus. In my spare time I like to garden, sometimes run, and golf
